Students are required to attend 1 concert each semester and type a concert review paper about their experience.  Hope College has a lot of free concerts throughout the year, as well as Grand Valley.  There is also the Grand Rapids Symphony, Holland Symphony , and West Michigan Symphony (Muskegon).  Any type of live, music concert will work for this assignment--folk music, high school concerts and rock concerts are also acceptable. The concert review rubric can be found attached to this website in the Music Handbook.  I strongly encourage students to use the rubric when writing their papers since this is what I use when I grade them.  The Concert Review paper for 1st semester is due by November 26, 2019.  The paper for 2nd semester is due by April 24, 2020.
