I have served the Black River Public School community in administrative and teaching roles for the past 16 years. I earned my BA at Hope College with an English major and a history minor, and I completed my MA in K-12 Educational Administration at MSU. I currently teach English 9 courses, and I am also a Senior Capstone Coordinator. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I also enjoy my role as the supervising teacher for the Girl Up program, which is supported by the United Nations Foundation and seeks to empower students to champion the strengths and rights of girls and women.
When I’m not busy diving into new reading, writing, and project-based learning opportunities with my students, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and exploring myriad sensory adventures at cultural events, museums, theaters, and restaurants. I believe that educational opportunities surround us in everyday life, and I strive to always ask questions and never stop learning.
