ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM
In May 2017, Black River Public School students took 255 Advanced Placement examinations in 20 different subjects (Art History, Biology, Calculus AB/BC, Chemistry, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Environmental Science, European History, Human Geography, US Government and Politics, Comparative Government and Politics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Physics C, Physics 1, Psychology, Spanish Literature, Statistics, Studio Art (Drawing) and United States History.   60.3% of the Class of 2017 scored a 3, 4 or 5 on at least one exam during their high school career.  

The Washington Post (2011) recognized Black River Public School as #1 in Michigan (#156 in the nation) on its "challenge index" for Advanced Placement student participation.
