The Sound of Music Elementary Student Auditions

The Black River Theatre Company is presenting "The Sound of Music" on March 8 and 9. In an effort to cast actors closer to the correct ages to portray the Von Trapp children, we are opening up auditions to K-5 students. Elementary auditions will take place on Wednesday, November 28 in the Elementary Music Room.  Audition time slots will be from 3:15-4:00, 4:00-4:45 and 4:45-5:30.  Please contact Rachel Andrews by email at andrewsr@brpsk12.org to sign up your child to audition.  You will also be sent additional information about auditions and the rehearsal schedule.

Open Positions for the Fine Arts Booster Team

The school year is well underway and we still have a couple of open positions for the Fine Arts Boosters team.  We would really like to fill up our group so we can help the department as much as possible this year.  Please take a moment to read through the position descriptions below and see if you would be interested in joining our team.  Our meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 5pm, usually in the Large Ensemble Room of the Lyceum.  We make every effort to keep them to about half an hour in length.

Here are the two open positions:

1. Treasurer:  this individual is a voting member of the Fine Arts Booster (FAB) group and attends monthly meetings to discuss ideas, help with event planning and vote on expenditures. The treasurer is responsible for keeping an accurate account of all financial transactions of the FAB and giving a treasurer's report at each meeting.

2. Orchestra Parent Representative - this individual is also a voting member of the FAB group and attends monthly meetings as noted above.  This role varies depending on the needs of the orchestra director and in the past has included activities such as planning a reception after an orchestra concert in the Lyceum.

Please consider volunteering your time to help make this year a successful one for our students.  If interested, please contact me at fineartsboosters@brpsk12.org.

Thank you!
