Hi Black River families! My name is Sydnie Avery and I am a lower elementary teacher at BR. I grew up in Saugatuck, MI and recently settled down in Holland with my fiancé, three dogs, and two cats. I graduated from Grand Valley State University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education and integrated science with a minor in psychology. When I’m not teaching, I love to hike, go to the beach, draw/paint, or hang out with my pets! I am so excited to be joining the Black River family, and I am looking forward to a great year!
