Black River was the first school in West Michigan to institute a Project Term for all students in 1st through 12th grades.

Project Term is a month of experiential education for upper elementary, middle school, and high school, and a two week period in the elementary grades. Through field trips and hands-on activities, students gain educational experiences that are difficult to provide in a more traditional setting. It is an opportunity for teachers to share their areas of expertise with students. Students also have the opportunity to develop interests and talents that will last beyond the duration of the term.

School Hours during Project Term: 8am-2:40pm (Grades K-12)
