My name is Jim Levering and I am very excited to begin another year as the Elementary Administrator of Black River Montessori Elementary.  

I was born and raised in Ada, Michigan.  After high school, I went to Central Michigan University...Go CHIPS!  I was hired at Black River in 2005 and completed an eight-week Montessori training program.  I taught in an Upper Elementary classroom for ten years and loved every minute of it.  During this time, I went back to school and received a Master's in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University...Go Broncos (yes, I know...I'm conflicted). 

I have been married to my beautiful wife, Ann-Marie, for 15 years.  We have two boys, Jake and Owen, and an English Cream Golden Retriever named Baliey.  My family has been living in Caledonia since June 2012.

When I'm not at school, I love to read!  My favorite author is Michael Crichton.  When I'm not reading, you can find me outside playing soccer with my boys.  I am their AYSO soccer coach and I've loved every minute of it.  As I've grown older, I found that I really like to cook...even though my boys would be happy living on butter noodles and grilled cheese :)
