Hello BR Families! My name is Kelli Heneghan and I am the administrative assistant in the elementary main office and the district substitute coordinator. I attended Southern Illinois University for two years and then on to the University of Maryland UC. For many years I lived on the beautiful eastern shores of Maryland before moving closer to my family in the Chicago area. I joined the administration staff at BR after volunteering with the Black River Parent Organization where I was able to get to know many of our amazing teachers and staff members. I love my position at Black River and look forward to supporting our students and parents during their time at BR.   

I have been happily married to my husband Dan for 26 years and we have four Black River Rats, Maggi, Joseph, Audrey and Tucker. Maggi graduated from Black River in 2012 and University of Chicago in 2016. She is currently living in New York City. Joey graduated from Black River in 2016 and is in his senior year at American University, Washington D.C. studying Information Technology and Marketing. Audrey graduated from Black River in 2018 is at Michigan State studying Elementary Education, Go Green! Tuck is a senior at Black River and plays tennis for the BR-Holland Christian co-op. I feel so fortunate to work where he is steps from my office and can stop in anytime to say hi. 

In my free time I love to take road trips to my favorite cities, bake and read. I have been known to drive hours for a good bakery or coffee shop! Please feel free to stop by office anytime. I am excited to share my experiences as a Black River parent and staff member. Go Rats!
