I graduated with my Bachelors in 2011 from Central Michigan University in Secondary Education with certifications in both a major in K- 12 Visual Arts Education (LQ) with a 2-Dimensional Art Concentration, as well as a minor in English (BA). During my undergrad, I had the opportunities studied for a month in Florence, Italy and taught in Oaxaca, Mexico. I finished my masters degree in Art Education through Eastern Illinois University in 2019, where I was able to be immersed in studio classes to advance my artistic skill and knowledge.
I live in Holland with my husband, Joe, and our dog, Drogo. In our free time, we enjoy hiking Saugatuck Dunes, working out, spending time with friends and family, camping, reading, and streaming shows.
Currently, I am teaching 4/5, 6th Grade Art, 8th Grade Art and 2D/3D Foundations high school class. At Black River, I am dedicated to creating a conducive environment for learning and making art. I strive to create a positive environment for students to feel free to express their emotions and their opinions.
