Jesse Davenport
Lower Elementary Teacher
Room Number:

Hello there, my name is Jesse Davenport. I am a Lower Elementary (1-2-3) Teacher here at Black River. I am very excited to be a full-time member of the BR team, especially after quite a year last year at BR. I attended The College of Wooster and received my Bachelor's of Arts Degree in 2011 in Geology and Chemistry. I then attended The University of Notre Dame and received my Master’s of Science in Geochemistry. Finally, I moved to and lived in France for 6 years, where I went to the Université de Lorraine and Centre de Recherches Pétrographiques et Géochimiques and obtained my Ph.D. in Radiogenic Isotope Geochemistry. I am currently furthering my education and obtaining my teaching certification and licenses. I was immediately in love with the “Montessori Way” the first time that I stepped foot in a classroom at the elementary school.

My girlfriend, Brooke, and I live in Grand Rapids with our Border Collie/Corgi mix named Shadow. When I am not at school, I am likely riding my bike, camping, backpacking, hammocking, reading, traveling, or cooking, among many other things! The best way to predict the future is to help create it; I hope to help create it here at Black River!
