Hello there, my name is Dustin TerHaar. I am a Lower Elementary (1-2-3) Teacher here at Black River. I am not sure if my last name gives away the fact that I was born and raised here in Holland, MI. I attended Western Michigan University and received my Bachelor's of Science Degree in 2012 in Fashion Design and Interpersonal Communications. I am currently furthering my education and obtaining my teaching certification and licenses. As someone who loves human development, I am very excited to be delving into the world of Montessori Education.

My partner, Tyler, and I live in Holland with our Great Dane Simeon, and two cats, Arsène & Chester. When I am not educating young minds, I am trying to educate myself and stay grounded by doing: meditation, yoga, reading, writing, studying French, traveling, hiking, tennis, snowboarding, cooking, eating, and drinking. We only have this one life right? I am trying to make the most of it!
