Greetings, Black River Families,
We at Black River hope that you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend and that you are staying cool during this prolonged heat wave we are having right now!
As you may have read from our update last Thursday, the Governor’s Office released the Michigan 2020-21 Return to School Roadmap. Here is the link for your reference: MI Safe Schools Roadmap
Since then, our BR task force committees continue to work to make sure that we are prepared for a safe return to school in August. Actually, it has been truly amazing to see our talented staff rise to the current challenges we are facing with confidence and poise. Black River is a special school with dedicated and passionate professionals who all LOVE what they do.
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
As part of our planning process, we would like to receive feedback from our BR community. On Tuesday, July 7th, we posted a link to our Operation Rat Return Parent Survey to the Black River website. If you have not yet taken the survey, you may use this link to complete it: Operation Rat Return Parent Survey. The responses to this survey will help guide our decision-making on returning to school in the fall. The survey will close on Friday, July 17, 2020. Thank you in advance for your help with this feedback.
Unfortunately, due to the current uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Black River will not be offering a summer school program this year. Instead, we are putting all of our efforts into planning for a safe return to school in the fall. Safety is, and always has been, our number one priority. Thank you for understanding.
Finally, we would like to take a moment to congratulate Nicole Duquette (MS/HS Special Education Teacher) on adding a new baby boy, Alastor James, to her family on July 5th. We are all so happy for you, Duquette family!
We are BR! Take care, and we hope to see you all soon.
