A play by D.W. Gregory, this story tells the true experience of the women who worked as dial painters at the U.S. Radium Corporation in the 1920s, a time when radium was considered a miracle cure.
Young women, who were instructed to use their lips to shape their brushes, began to suffer from radium poisoning, with severe symptoms like disintegrating jaws and weakened bones.
The play follows their fight for justice and compensation through a pioneering lawsuit against their employer, eventually leading to worker protections and a reevaluation of the dangers of commercializing science.
Come see it performed by Black River Theatre Company performers for an experience you'll remember!
