familyWelcome back to another school year! I hope everyone had a fun, successful summer. I am really looking forward to having you in my class this year, and would like to provide a little more information on who I am, and what I do at Black River.

I graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in English and Psychology, and then went back to receive calvinmy teaching certificate in Cognitive Impairment and Elementary Education. I started at Black River as a parapro when I graduated in 2011, and became a part-time Resource teacher in 2012 after having my daughter. Now, I am a full time Resource teacher and teach Life Skills, as well as providing English support and homework support to students.

Now, I am attending Grand Valley State University for my Master's in Differentiated Education, for which I am passionate and have been given the chance in 2016 to present on all of the amazing differentiating and accommodating we do at Black River!

I am an Equestrian, and competed all through school, including College. I also love to travel, camp, hike, and eat! My favorite place to visit was Scotland, but the best food was in Italy! I am married and have a five year old daughter, who attends Black River, a Pug named Max, a cat named Clawdius, a bunny named Rose, and a horse name Rez.

I can't wait to get to know each of you and what your interests and passions are! We will have an awesome school year, and I'm confident we will make it our best!
