More Information The English Department will be hosting a 'Poetry Out Loud' competition. The competition will be held in the Main Gym. High school students will be competing, but it is open to the community. This competition is in partnership with the Michigan Humanities Council, The National Endowment for the Arts, and the Poetry Foundation. It is a part of a national program that encourages high school students to learn about great poetry—both classic and contemporary—through memorization, performance, and competition. High school students have been competing in individual English classrooms, and the 20 classroom winners will be participating in our school wide event. The winner of this competition will advance to the state finals in Lansing on March 1-2. Please take a moment to congratulate the following classroom winners: Wesley Looman Hudson Hilgert Xavier Swalla Annika Pearson Daniel Knieper Kira King Mia Phillips Aanya Usmani Bekah Harrelson Piper Kendall Kate DeYoung Alexa Meloche Xavier Reyes Laine Kibler Maddy Ruhl Martha Holland-Anderson Emily Dykhouse Dustin Danckaert Jadah Burciaga Kristen Knieper |
