The National Honor Society will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, March 17, from 9am to 2:45pm. We would greatly appreciate donations. If you are sixteen or older and are interested in donating blood, please follow the following steps:

Please bring a form of ID to the blood drive! Everyone should have a form of ID!

2) Also, print out the attached PDF. It must be signed, dated, and turned in to Ms. Mousseau's office by 11 AM by Friday, March 13

For those who are 17 years and older, wishing to donate, please complete the following:

2) Type "49423" into the "Find a Blood Drive" bar in the top right corner. 
3) Find the Black River Blood Drive
4) Click on a time slot
5) Make an account and sign up.

Our We the People students need your help! Please support our State Championship We the People team as they fund-raise to attend the national competition in Washington D.C. Please help them by making a donation, spreading the word, or by attending our Silent Auction fundraising event. Tickets are $25 and pre-orders must be placed by Friday, March 13th with this form.   

To Parents/Guardians of 7^th graders:

On Thursday, March 19 the 7^th grade will hold an Asian Feast in the Lyceum with supper beginning at 6 pm. All 7^th grade students and their families are invited.

The students are to choose a recipe and make it or help to make it to share from East Asian countries (China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, etc.).  They may work in groups if they like (with parent approval). It is encouraged to NOT buy items ready made to bring.

A card or paper with the name of the recipe and copy of it, and the country it is from needs to be by each dish (this is also for participants to know in case of allergies). Dishes can be as simple as mixed fruit, rice, or a cake/desert.  There are also various beverages and fruit juices to select.  

 We have cookbooks here for students to look at, and there is a world of food ideas on the Internet!  (*Paper products, such as paper plates, forks, chopsticks, spoons and cups will also be needed if you cannot cook—I only ask that you check with me ahead of time so I will know what is needed.  Students are reminded to take their dishes/serving utensils home that evening. 

This event is highly encouraged for 7^th grade students.  I believe it is an experience of cultural sharing as well as a class bonding time (students and parents) that is important to participate in. This is such a special, informal time for students to try new foods and for parents to meet each other.
