ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM
In May 2026, Black River Public School students took 326 Advanced Placement examinations in 21 different subjects (Art History, Biology, Calculus AB, Chemistry, Computer Science A, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Environmental Science, European History, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Physics 1, Physics C, US Government and Politics, Psychology, Spanish Language, Statistics, Studio Art (Drawing) and United States History. 76% of the Class of 2026 scored a 3, 4 or 5 on at least one exam in 2026.
The Washington Post (2011) recognized Black River Public School as #1 in Michigan (#156 in the nation) on its "challenge index" for Advanced Placement student participation.
