Dear Black River Families,

Due to the growing number of cases and change in status to "High Risk" of transmission for our County regarding COVID-19, Black River will require all students, staff members and visitors to our school to wear a mask while inside our school buildings to begin this school year.  This decision is made for the health and safety of all who come to Black River and includes all buildings and all students and staff regardless of vaccination status.

The topic of COVID-19 and all that goes with it is a difficult one.  There are likely some families that are very pleased by this announcement as well as some that are very upset by this announcement.  Please know that this is understood and that this decision is made to do what is best for our kids.  This decision helps prevent transmission of the disease as well as reduces the distance for contact tracing from 6 feet to 3 feet to become a close contact with a recommended quarantine.

It is our hope that our students and staff stay healthy and in school.
