For some of the questions we have received at school, we can provide clear answers right now, while others will take more time.  For example, while we are considering all possibilities, we do not yet know the details of the BR prom or honors assembly due to capacity and gathering limitations.  Also, the Health Department is working to advise schools regarding recommendations for in -person graduation ceremonies.  Now that the governor has given us some more guidance, we will be able to make more decisions very soon.

We would like to share important updates that we have decided based on our current circumstances.  One update is that, for the second time this school year, we will not be administering exams for our 6-12th grade students this spring. We will maintain the half days in our schedule, on May 5-7, which will be remote days for all K-12 students.  Following these half days, we will extend our second semester for two weeks (May 11-21), when we will once again offer support to our students, focused on providing learning extensions or helping students make up essential work from the semester.  Some high school students who need extra support will have an opportunity for credit recovery from the fall semester during this time as well.  These two weeks will be normal school days but with an individual focus for both our remote and on-campus learners.  As is typical, seniors may conclude their school year on May 7 unless they are working to earn passing grades for graduation.  Also, the Senior Capstone Project is officially waived for this year’s senior class.  Families will receive details and updates about these items and more very soon.  It has been a tough year for our students, and we want them to feel supported and hopeful, even with the challenges they have faced.

We have also received questions regarding Project Term, and we will be providing elements of Project Term for the last two weeks of this school year to both our in-person and remote learners.  In middle school and high school, we will not be changing the current schedule of A-F block classes that we created per our COVID-19 protocols, but your students' current classroom teachers will be building Project Term elements into their class time.  While we still face limitations to Project Term programming, we look forward to creating a meaningful educational experience that will feel like a breath of fresh air after such a difficult year.
