Friday, February 12 - Half Day for Grades 6-12

CAP Attendance Required - In Person students must attend CAP in person.

There will not be Flex Friday sessions on this day.  Students who are In person are expected to attend CAP in person.  In person students should physically report to their CAP classroom from 8:00 - 11:00am.  Students should come to school with a charged device as they will continue their work in Eduguide and Naviance during this time.

Naviance is a college and career readiness program where students complete a series of lessons.  This program includes goal setting, career and college exploration among other helpful tools that align students strengths and interests to their future plans.  EduGuide is a research based social/emotional online learning platform.  Each week, students are working through a new lesson.  They have been learning new skills and have been tasked with using that skill in a real life setting. At the same time, school staff members have responded to student’s online activities with coaching comments that help everyone grow together.

CAP teachers are looking forward to having some conversations based on the learning that has taken place so far with each of these programs.  Students who are caught up in those areas can use this extra time to work on other coursework, etc.  Some CAP classes will meet in different rooms so be sure to check your schedule to verify where your class is meeting.

Remote CAP Students

CAP teachers will schedule two live meets for remote students, one some time between 8:00 and 11:00am and one between 12:00 and 2:15pm.  Remote students are required to attend one of the live meets.

AM Tech Center students who can't attend the in person CAP class, should plan to attend the afternoon Google Meet instead.

In person students in grades 6-12 will be dismissed for the day at 11:00am.  If your student orders lunch on this day, they will be able to pick it up starting at 10:45am.

We appreciate your flexibility with the schedule change.  It is important for funding purposes that we are able to account for our students in order to continue providing the best education possible at Black River.
