Black River students in Mrs. Marguerite Stephens' History class made hundreds of paper cranes that were strung together and sent to Hiroshima to be added to the other cranes in the Hiroshima Peace Park, Japan. The cranes arrived safely and are now hanging at the Children’s Peace Monument in a lasting effort to promote a peaceful world without nuclear weapons.
