I have been teaching high school English at Black River for 13 years. Additionally, I teach an elective Sociology course and am a Senior Capstone Coordinator. I love to read and write, and enjoy passing on those skills on to my wonderful students. I have a passion for current events, which often become a focus of conversation in my classroom. I earned my undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from Lake Superior State University (with minors in Spanish and Sociology) and my M.Ed with a focus on Secondary Education at Grand Valley State University. 

I live in Zeeland with my husband and 3 kids, all of whom also attend Black River Elementary. We love to swim, bike, travel, and knit together.
