Bio:

The 2022-2023 academic year is my 27th year with Black River Public School.

My primary assignments are working with High School freshmen in “Big History:  The Big Bang, Life of Earth, and the Rise of Humanity” (https://www.oerproject.com/) and upper-class students in “AP European History.”  After serving as a pilot program with the launch of the Big History Project, we continue to serve as a “mentor” for schools around the world.  The University of Michigan shares an article and video of the Big History approach at Black River:  https://news.umich.edu/black-river-big-history-project-asking-the-how-and-why-questions/.  Since 2002, I have worked with The College Board as a reader and table leader with the European History national examination.

Over the year I have led many courses (German Language, Theatre Studies, other electives) and academic clubs and extracurricular activities (Model UN, Theatre Club, Cross Country Running).

My post-secondary studies include:
University of Michigan, Residential College (1987); BA, International Studies of Western Europe, Economics
Bowling Green State University (1991); MA, German
Louisiana State University (1995); PhD, Theatre
Fulbright Scholar (Vienna, Austria, 1993-1994)
