My name is Carly Johnson, and I'm an upper elementary teacher here at Black River.  I was born in Swartz Creek, MI and raised in the Flint area. I attended Northern Michigan University, in the beautiful Upper Peninsula, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Language Arts and elementary education in 2014. I lived and taught in Wisconsin for a couple years before moving to Ottawa County.

My husband,Chris, and I live in Grand Haven with our cat, Hemingway, Hemi for short and our dog Roman. In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping, reading, bike riding, snowshoeing, baking, and fixing up our house. We also enjoy traveling and one of our favorite places is the UP because Chris was born and raised in Marquette. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
