Elementary Summer Enrichment Program Sign-Up Deadline Contact
Krista Ekdahl at ekdahlk@brpsk12.org

More Information

Although summertime may mean a vacation from the classroom, it should never be a break in any child's intellectual development. Education research shows that children lose a great deal of what they have learned during idle summer months. Researchers have studied the “summer effect" on student achievement and their studies consistently show that student learning declines or remains stagnant during summer months. Students who keep their learning skills active during the summer months are better primed to return to school in the fall.

Our summer program, which is free of charge, will be a three week program for K – 5th grade students, starting Monday, July 8 and ending July 26.  Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 8:00am-12:00pm. The summer enrichment curriculum will include math, language arts and physical activity.  If your child will be attending summer school, we encourage your child to attend regularly for maximum benefit. Register HERE for the Summer Enrichment Program.

We strongly urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to enrich your student’s education. Early intervention in reading, writing and math will greatly increase your child’s likelihood of academic success in future years. Please contact Krista Ekdahl through email (ekdahlk@brpsk12.org) if you would like further information.

To aide us in our preparation, we ask that you complete the form below and return it by April 17, 2019. Please note that all elementary classes will take place in the elementary building (students in grades K-5 in 2018/2019 school year). Drop-off and pick-up will take place at the elementary main entrance.

Sincerely,

Krista Ekdahl and Summer School Staff
