As many of you already know we started a new recess program at the beginning of this school year developed by Every Moment Counts (called “Refreshing Recess”) to make recess an enjoyable and positive time for all of our students.  We have received a lot of great feedback from both parents and students about this new program.

 We are excited to announce that we are now working on a lunch program from Every Moment Counts called “Comfortable Cafeteria” that we are hoping to kick-off in January.  Part of this program is to create a lunchroom that has a cozy and inviting feel to the space.  To help with some funding to make a couple of minor improvements to our lunchroom we need your help to put together an elementary cookbook. On Friday your student will be coming home with a template for them to fill out with one of their favorite recipes, or you can access it on the BRPS elementary website.  We will need to have these completed recipe forms back by Friday, November 16.  We will then put together a BRPS Elementary Cookbook that will be available for purchase and would make great Christmas gifts!

 Your student will also have an opportunity to create a drawing for the cover of the cookbook.  The template for this will also be sent home on Friday and entries must be received by Friday, November 16. On Monday, November 18 the elementary staff will vote on the entries and the one with the most votes will be chosen to be on the cover. 

Thank you for your assistance with this project!  With your support, we can create an awesome cookbook that our families and friends can enjoy and that can also help raise some funding for the Comfortable Cafeteria program.
