The Black River Green Team has set up activities for the week leading up to Earth Day. Please join them in celebrating our environment and safe environmental practices. Here are the week-long activities that have been initiated:
Monday, April 16th: Earth Day Information
MS/HS CAP teachers will show a powerpoint created by the Green Team. Elementary teachers, will be going over the special days and asking the students some trivia questions to get them excited. Please ask your students what they learned!
Tuesday, April 17th: Energy Conservation Day
We will be doing our best to conduct all or part of our classes with the lights off or some of the lights off. Teachers may plan for a technology free day or to use less energy in the classroom in some way. Would you be willing to do this at home?
Wednesday, April 18th: Bring your Own Water Bottle
Last year, the average American used 167 disposable water bottles, but only recycled 38. Please encourage your student to bring a reusable water bottle to school instead of buying disposable water bottles. Every bottle kept out of our landfills makes a difference.
Thursday April 19th: No Trash Day
Students and teachers are challenged to bring absolutely nothing that will need to be thrown away in their lunch.
Thank you for supporting the Black River Green Team!
